Hafuwa web.jpg

Hafuwa, one of our Primary 4 pupils, refuses to allow disability to hold her back. She works hard at home, helping to prepare the local snack of cassava to sell to passers-by.

With schools in Uganda still all closed, each morning she lights the fire, peels the cassava, slicing it into small pieces before dipping them into cooking oil. See her in action in the short video below.

She is able to add the money she raises to the small income her mother receives from occasional work. In addition, Hafuwa helps to look after her baby sibling and help with some household chores.

Hafuwa doesn’t have a sponsor. If you would like to sponsor her (or another child) through school, please click here for details.
