Education

Providing free education gives our pupils the chance to eventually help lift their families out of poverty and guides them on the choices to make in order to achieve success both now and in the future. The selection of pupils is based on poverty and vulnerability, not religion or tribe.

We want our schools to demonstrate our long-term commitment to developing self-reliance and positive change together.

Teachers

Our teachers are mainly residents of the Namatala slum – some are displaced people from the north of the country, who bring with them the skills we need. They provide high-quality education in the midst of extreme poverty and, at the same time, secure good jobs with long-term prospects. Many of these wonderful people have suffered horrific experiences, and now, through their income, they are able to support their own families.
