One of our Child of Hope pupils, Silas, has recently been helping his mother on a small piece of land in the Namatala slum. His mother is one of the mums supported by Child of Hope’s micro-business (IGA) initiative, receiving a grant and free business training with ongoing support from the IGA team.
Unfortunately, her last harvest did not produce as much as they hoped for due to a lack of rain. They both visit their plot twice a day, where Silas helps with the watering and seed planting. They are hopeful that their renewed efforts will produce a better harvest this season.
