UPDATE: Josephine is now sponsored! Please click here to see our other pupils awaiting sponsorship, or feel free to contact us.
This is Josephine, a bright and determined 16-year-old who is hoping for a sponsor (£25 p/m). Last year, she completed Primary 7 at Child of Hope, earning a Division 2, and is now in Senior One at our secondary school. She is an orphan and lives with her elder sister, who, unfortunately, is currently unemployed.
Josephine has medical issues which affect her daily life. Despite a successful operation recently, she suffers from pain and breathing difficulties, and doctors have advised her not to walk long distances. To make school possible, Josephine is staying in our hostel on the secondary site, much closer to her classes. The hostel costs £65 per term, so, unusually, as well as a sponsor for her education, we’re also looking for an additional donor (£15 p/m) to help cover this cost.
Despite everything, Josephine remains a cheerful student who loves singing and dreams of becoming a teacher. With a bit of extra support, she can continue her education and look forward to a brighter future.
