Seventeen years ago, Susan started at Child of Hope in Baby Class. This year, she's off to university on a scholarship to become a science teacher.
In between, she topped her class not once but twice — first at COH Junior School, then again at Gill Sherlock Memorial School, where she came out top in the whole school for both her GCSE and A-Level equivalent exams. She managed all this while grieving the loss of her mum during her final year — proof that resilience runs deep.
Susan was one of only five students selected for the scholarship, and she's off to Busitema University to study Biology and Chemistry. Her plan afterwards? Become a science teacher and pass it all on to the next generation.
"I am so grateful to Child of Hope and my sponsor for believing in me and supporting my education from Baby Class until now," Susan says. "Receiving this scholarship is a dream come true. I will study hard and become a teacher so I can help other young people achieve their dreams, just as I've been helped."
