Ten spelling superstars, one big competition, and a lot of nervous excitement!
Our Child of Hope Junior School pupils recently took part in the District Spelling Bee, going head-to-head with learners from schools right across Mbale City to test their spelling, reading and communication skills.
The competition wasn't for the faint-hearted — a written first round, followed by oral rounds that kept going all the way to Round Six! Through it all, our pupils showed real confidence and discipline, and it paid off: three of our spellers have now qualified to represent Mbale City at the National Spelling Bee Competition in Kampala later this year.
As one of our pupils put it:
"I was nervous at first, but every round made me more confident. I am excited to represent Mbale City at the National Competition."
We are so proud of every single one of them. Kampala, get ready!
