Gloria is in the primary 5 class at CoH School. Following the sad death of her mother two years ago, a relative had been sending rent to keep Gloria in her home.

This support dried up, and, unbeknown to Child of Hope, 12 months of rent arrears had accumulated. As a result, 15-year-old Gloria was evicted by the landlord and had nowhere to go. Upon discovery of this, the welfare team immediately arranged for her belongings to be stored in the CoH welfare office, and accommodation was provided for Gloria in the girls’ hostel on the secondary school site. Now, she's thriving and surrounded by supportive friends. Gloria says, ‘My life is now good! I am enjoying being with the girls; they are kind to me. They pump water for me at the borehole and carry it for me!’ It warms our hearts to witness the bond of friendship and support among these incredible girls!

Gloria already has a sponsor, but if you are interested in sponsoring one of our other pupils to help our work continue, please click here for more details.
