Andrew loves his new project, taking care of the farm pigeons. He is one of Child of Hope’s ‘young farmers’ who help the farm manager in their own time. That’s him on the left with his friend Ronny in this 10-second video.

Each morning before school, Andrew takes charge of feeding the pigeons, which are bred for future sale, before assisting with other farm duties such as cutting the grass for the farm animals and  cleaning the shelters. These young farmers also help on the farm after school and at weekends.

Despite having sickle cell anaemia, Andrew lives life as fully as his fellow pupils. He loves science and has ambitions of becoming an engineer when he is older.
