BMI check 1.jpeg

Our health team, together with workers from nearby JOY Hospice, are currently undertaking a four-day health survey to assess the benefits of a new nutritional program – introduced this year to enrich the children’s diet with fortified maize flour, fish and super beans.

Every year Child of Hope checks the body mass index (BMI) of each child to ensure their physical wellbeing and to enable additional support to be given to any not thriving. This is a comparison study as data is also collected from other children in the community – any of those children found to be suffering from worms are immediately given deworming medication.
