Last week our health team made home visits to families in Namatala slum. They focused their efforts on those children who were on our school’s nutrition programme before lockdown and those who had been receiving specific medications before the schools closed.
Being out of school, they found that some children have deteriorated in health because of inadequate nutrition and failure to receive timely medication. They will now direct special attention to these families and provide appropriate treatment and food at home where possible. At the same time, they will maintain a schedule to follow-up most other children, ensuring their ongoing health.
