Mosquito nets_4847.jpg

Most of our children get sick from malaria because they do not have mosquito nets in their home - so we were very happy to be given 150 nets recently!

Our health unit is often overwhelmed with cases of the mosquito-borne disease, the most serious cases sometimes requiring hospital referrals. One of the effective measures to combat this debilitating disease is to sleep under a mosquito net.

We are thrilled to announce that Joy Hospice, which often treats our seriously ill children, has recently donated the nets to help reduce the spread of malaria among our children. While these will not cater for all our children, they will be distributed to those most at risk. We regularly give out malaria nets as funds allow, but these do not last forever and always need to be replaced.
