Fatuma lives in Namatala, Mbale, with her husband and three children. Like many families, she was working hard but struggling to make ends meet, and she worried that her daughter, Mariam, might not be able to stay in school.
Through Child of Hope, Mariam’s school fees were covered, and Fatuma received support to strengthen her income. With determination and hard work, Fatuma and her husband have now opened a small hardware shop – a new step forward after their previous business struggled.
‘Do you know what it means? I was happy – not many get that chance, and
the people of Child of Hope are of good heart,’ she shared. ‘They paid school fees
for my child and added some income for me in the business.’
She dreams of seeing Mariam reach university and of having a thriving, well-stocked shop.
The shop is still growing, and it represents something important: stability, opportunity, and hope for the future. We are so encouraged by Fatuma’s perseverance and all that she is building for her family.
