In Uganda, the school holidays run from early December to early February. While classes pause, our welfare and health teams work tirelessly to support our pupils.
The welfare team visits children at home, ensuring they’re safe and cared for. The health team oversees our essential food programme, providing lunchtime meals to our most vulnerable pupils, and helping them maintain a healthy weight during the break. The importance and impact of this programme can be seen in the video above.
During the recent Christmas break, the team found a family in the community with no food, and their children were crying with hunger. Although not COH pupils, we stepped in to provide support and included them in our food programme.
Your support makes this possible. Thank you for helping us care for these children - even when school is out!
