School holidays can be tough for Peter, one of our P4 boys who lives in the Child of Hope boys’ hostel. You may remember we featured him last year; after losing his mum, with no relatives able to care for him, Peter found a safe and supportive home with us, and he’s been thriving in the hostel. (Read his story here).
But when holiday time comes around, and the other boys head off to stay with family, Peter is usually left behind. This term, however, he’s had something special to smile about!
Cathy, one of our S3 girls who also lives in the hostel, has taken Peter under her wing like a big sister, helping him with chores like washing clothes and keeping an eye out for him. When the holidays arrived, she invited Peter to come and stay with her and her family.
Now, Peter is enjoying time in a loving home, making new friends, playing, and experiencing what it means to be part of a family again.
A huge thank you to Cathy and her family for their kindness and generosity — you’ve brought so much joy into Peter’s life!
