Blood donors Sept 26 (1380 x 720 px) (1).jpg

You might have given blood in a community centre, sports hall, or even (if you're of a certain age!), on a bus. Well, our amazing students headed to a pop-up tent on the school field to do their bit for the second time this year.

The World Blood Bank did a great job of facilitating the drive at our Gill Sherlock Memorial Secondary School last week. A fabulous 56 of them rolled up their sleeves – that's a lot of compassion, and a lot of lives that could be helped.

Vicky, Senior Five, told us:

"I donated blood because I wanted to help someone who may be in need. It is a small sacrifice that can save a life."

And Catherine, Senior Four, has a message for other young people:

"I encourage other young people to donate blood whenever they have the opportunity. One day, any of us could be the person who needs it."

We couldn't be prouder of every one of them!
