With another Covid-19 lockdown in place for six weeks in Uganda, our family support team is again out in the slum each day helping families of our pupils and any other families in dire need of food or support.

Our medical staff is part of that team, visiting homes around Namatala slum to talk about pressing health issues. Our school nurse and her assistants are providing families with basic education on primary health care – and or course awareness about the new surge in Coronavirus cases in the country, encouraging families to take precautions to reduce the risk of infection.

This initiative from the health team aims to reduce the spread of other diseases such as malaria, typhoid and diarrhoea, which are always prevalent in the slum, all the more so during the current rainy season. Our school clinic still remains open to any of our children who need medical attention.
