Former Child of Hope pupil Daidai is now teaching our Baby Class, and recently turned a phonics lesson into an outdoor adventure!
Taking the children outside, she held up a fallen bird’s nest for them to look at, before pointing out more nests high up in the trees around school. As they spotted the nests, Daidai wove in the day’s sound – “n” – while the children giggled and copied her. She also explained why birds build nests for their babies.
A simple, fun lesson combining nature and learning, and the children loved it!
