Twelve-year-old Joel, one of our long-time pupils at Child of Hope, is currently in hospital with a serious illness. He has fluid around his lungs and heart, and is receiving oxygen while undergoing treatment and tests, including chest x-rays and an echocardiogram.
Joel has been with Child of Hope for around eight years, and some of you may remember his story from last November, when we rebuilt his home after it collapsed. He’s a much-loved boy who’s part of our school family — and right now, he urgently needs our support.
In Uganda, hospital care isn’t free. We’re currently covering the costs of his medical treatment, food, and the care team needed to stay with him — and we’re asking for your help to continue. As an example, oxygen costs around £40 every 24 hours.
If you're able to give, please click the link below to donate. Any funds raised beyond what’s needed for Joel’s current treatment will go towards providing essential healthcare for other pupils in the future.
Thank you so much for standing with Joel and his family during this time.
