You might remember Jonathan, our cheerful P1 pupil we introduced back in August — he is the little boy who lived with his mum, dad (and their goat!) in a fragile, falling-down mud-and-tarpaulin hut (read more here). Despite everything, he never stopped smiling, loved school, and even practised maths on a neighbour's wall with chalk! We asked whether anyone could match-fund a donation from a kind benefactor, and you all delivered!
Thanks to that benefactor and all your generous donations, Jonathan and his family now have a fabulous, safe new home. Some of our wonderful secondary students and staff volunteered to carry out the entire project, and some of the staff's children even got involved (they are pictured, muddy and happy, with Jonathan and a wheelbarrow full of clay!). It was truly a community effort, and Jonathan's father is overwhelmed with gratitude – huge thanks to everyone involved.
